An afternoon of play, fun, and discoveries!
Being in Nature can have huge beneficial effects on children's mental health if the space and time is given to experience it this way. In our Forest School, no one will be forced to participate to an activity if they don't want to, and hanging out in the hammocks is highly recommended! Following a child-led approach, we try to facilite an experience tailored to each child's need, whithin a safe environment.
The forest provides us with an extensive range of materials to play and experiment with but we also bring elements to create new possibilities of exploration... a bit of rope, a few branches, and we have created a rope bridge! A bit of clay, some pine needles and here is a hedgehog! There's always more to discover.
Coming back to the same forest camp with the same group each week enables the creation of strong connections between the children. They learn to share, to help each other, and to collaborate though games and collective activities. What best than to create strong common memories to root a friendship on?
Through new motor experiences, like climbing trees, swinging and walking on a slack line, children get the necessary sensory input to calibrate their body and develop better coordinations. The forest provides such a diverse field of exploration that it fits all needs! From messy play to running on an uneven ground, there's room for development!
