"There's no bad weather, only bad gear"
A bit of rain has never stopped anyone from going into the forest.
That is why it's important that your child brings rainproof clothes with him / her when coming to join the group. However, I'm setting up a shelter at the camp, in case the rain is really too heavy.
Yes, most likely. Playing in the wood is great fun but it's definitely not clean. We will also be using craft materials which can be quite messy so don't forget to ask your child to wear clothes that are not too precious to you. Best is to bring spare clothes for afterwards, or a bag to sit on in the car.
Try to ask your child to go to the toilet before to go to the forest but we also have everything ready for them in case a child needs to go to the toilet while in the forest. A facility for washing hands (water and soap provided) and antibacterial gel will be provided at the camp.
I will cancel the outing in case of high winds and high expectations of lightning as it is not safe to be in the woods in these conditions. If that happens, I will try to find a way to remplace the missed session on another occasion.
Crafts, games, physical activities, ... I have a few things prepared for every day but I also follow the children ideas and suggestions !
Let's try to have a positive effect on the environment ! The goal of this time in the forest is also to raise awareness on the beauty of Nature and ways to protect it, so we always bring waste bags with us to pick up the rubbish we find on our way (whether it's ours or not) and try to have a "no trace" attitude.
